New York Times Headline: Japan Initiates Bold Bid to End Years of Tumbling Prices

The new Bank of Japan governor announced changes that would hopefully double money in circulation over the next two years. The bank plans to buy longer term bonds and double its holdings in government bonds to help end the financial downturn of recent years.
